Artistic rooms. Masterpieces of the Italian 900
Not only ideal places but real rooms where the art of the first half of the twentieth century is told by twelve of its greaters exponents: Mario Sironi, Arturo Martini, Ferruccio Ferrazzi, Giorgio de Chirico, Alberto Savinio, Carlo Carrà, Ardengo Soffici, Rosai, Massimo Campigli, Marino Marini, Fausto Pirandello and Scipio.
The exhibition hosted by the Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Rome, from 14 April to 1 October 2017, dedicates to each one an exclusive space in which the works are alongside the authors’ words, taken from their diaries, theoretical or critical letters and writings, so to offer a critical comment which best could not be from the same creative source of the masterpieces presented.
These are rooms in which entire poetic worlds, thanks to the masterpieces of the Gallery of Modern Art and others from prestigious private collections, about sixty sculpture works, painting, graphics.

Through the various halls of the show, the interplay of languages is revealed, together with the richness and complexity of the authors’ paths, creating illusory “rooms”, each dedicated to an artist; Unpublished critical readings in a tight comparison of themes and years of the twentieth century Italian – with particular reference to the decades 1920 and 1930 – that contribute to a re-reading of the works of the Capitoline collection largely already known to the Roman public also thanks to the effective relationship of Collaboration with a careful and sensitive private collection.
