On 17 May at 5 pm, the Borromini Art Gallery inaugurates its first major cultural project, in a prestigious location such as the Innocenzio College, home of the Eitch Borromini Hotel. It is the soul art of the project, an art that is already part of its history, since the historic building (1644-55) is a masterpiece of the famous architect Francesco Borromini. Carefully selected, the project will develop a cycle of great exhibitions in which to participate will be different artists from different genres. The first presence absence show has a highly suggestive title in places like these that still preserve traces of underpasses used by Pope Innocent X Pamphili as a way to escape. Edited by Sveva Manfredi Zavaglia, the exhibition features five artists from the national scene: Angelica Romeo, Chicca Savino, Francesca Merola, Marco Girolami and Quirino Cipolla. The unique exhibition of its kind is paved with a rather state-of-the-art set-up in which the past joins the present to give the future generations the sense of the time given by art. There are about sixty works that deserve to see the light in such a highly international space. Some already known to the public, others more unpublished, but all born to become something that leads to a collective and symbolic reconnaissance as indicated by the curator’s text: “Bouncing between Impressions Absences, the essence of time in the artistic research of the five artists. Their inner world finds an appropriate location for the project that runs through the space-time a journey of present and memory. “During the exhibition period, performances and performances are scheduled with the artists. On special occasions you will also be able to admire the tallest terrace of the building, called the “Great Beauty”, the jewel of the Hotel Eitch Borromini. From there you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Piazza Navona and the Eternal City.
